Journey was inspired by the lakes near where I live and walk my dogs, and I would always see mating swans and when they took off or were in flight – the majestic way a swan flies is for me, one of nature’s most stunning and sacred forms. Journey is about one lone swan I kept seeing who has a particular wing deformation – I wondered where her mate was and I remember watching her fly off one day and wondered where her journey would take her. I chose white on white as it depicts the misty morning of my last sighting of her.
