The land where I live lies low and flat, and the sky gets room to show itself. On clear nights the Milky Way arches overhead, a river of ancient light poured across the dark, and below it every blade of grass catches that glow. This painting is about that meeting point. The stars feel impossibly far away, yet their light still reaches the most ordinary things. There's a quiet holiness in that, a reminder that we don't have to climb to the heavens to be touched by them. We are all lit by something older than time and woven into the same vast story as the stars.
