There is a place I walk my dog that is quite secluded, and if I go at peak owl time, I see her, flying low across the top of the grasses. I crouch sometimes so she doesn’t see me and I can witness a fly by. This painting was inspired by her one eve when she was so focused on her hunt, she didn’t see me – until the very last minute and in a split second made the turn, and gracefully flapped away…
