Inspired by the wild moor ponies of Dartmoor with their wise ancient eyes and their unruly manes – I never noticed until close up just how long their lashes can grow. This was a new charcoal method I was trying out to make the canvas look grainy and old – I wasn’t too happy with it at first but it's become a favourite.
